Singapore Telecommunications Limited, more commonly known as Singtel, is a leading Singaporean telecommunications conglomerate that provides a wide range of services and products for the Asia-Pacific region. These include fixed and mobile broadband, data, internet, TV, information and communications technology (ICT), and digital solutions. As of March 2021, Singtel serves over 744 million mobile customers in 21 countries. The company has roots dating back to 1879 and officially became a listed company in 1992, when it made its debut on the Singapore Stock Exchange. Since then, Singtel has acquired subsidiaries across the APAC region such as Globe, National Computer Systems (NCS), Advanced Info Service (AIS), Airtel, Optus, and Telkomsel. Its headquarters are located in the Comcentre skyscraper and the company is majority owned by Temasek Holdings, the investment arm of the Singapore government, as well as being a constituent of the Straits Times Index (STI).
