Colin joined CMC Markets’ Canadian office in 2007, following considerable experience accrued in investment banking and syndication. He has now been providing insight and analysis for traders and institutional clients for over 20 years.

Previously, Colin worked for 11 years at Canaccord Genuity in a number of capacities, including as technical analyst, and published the Momentum Trends daily technical newsletter for seven years.

In his current role, Colin tracks economic and market trends for global indices, North American shares, commodities and currencies, utilising both fundamental and technical analysis techniques.

He produces two trading newsletters per day, one for North America and Europe, and another for Asia-Pacific clients. Colin focuses on the economic and corporate developments and trends driving trading in the world’s key indices, commodities and forex pairs. He also frequently produces special reports which take a more in-depth look at events that have the potential to impact trading in specific areas.

Colin is frequently quoted in the business press by a wide variety of global publications, including the Financial Times, Daily Telegraph, Observer, Reuters, Dow Jones, Globe & Mail and National Post. He also is a frequent guest on TV and radio, offering commentary and insight on breaking market conditions.

Colin has completed both the Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Market Technician programmes and has also been awarded the Certified Financial Technician designation.
