The improved CMC Invest platform has new features to enhance your trading experience. This guide will help investors to set their platform settings, understand key account information, conduct detailed stock research, place informed trades, and manage portfolios with ease.
Platform Navigation
Access key sections like account details, available instruments, markets, order ticket, analysis tools, watchlists, and market insights on the left-hand menu. Click the three lines to hide/show the left-hand menu. Access stock or ETF search, and use the CMC Invest logo to return to the dashboard.
The 'Account Settings' feature helps to manage messages, alerts, and visibility of your balance, holdings, and P&L from the top-right corner. Access account settings and support here.
Dashboards
Portfolio Summary: view all holdings, their market value, and profit/loss. Sort by categories like profit/loss.
My Watchlists: create, rename, or delete custom lists of favorite stocks and ETFs. Rename or delete a watch list by selecting the three dots in the top right corner. To the right, thematic watchlists provide curated collections of stocks grouped by industry, trend or market.
Market Insights: View curated collections by industry or trend, and access TradingView heatmaps for market performance across various sectors.
Settings
The settings feature allows to update personal details, manage subscriptions, and set trading preferences. To add an extra layer of security, activate the multi-factor authentication.
The 'Trading Settings' Enable cryptocurrency or algorithmic trading after reviewing risks. Customise notifications for trade updates.
Market Research
To research a stock or ETF, enter the company name or ticker symbol in the search bar. This takes you to the instrument summary page, which includes key financial data and analysis tools.
On the summary page, you'll find Morningstar Ratings for company insights and ESG Risk Ratings for environmental, social, and governance impact. For advanced analysis, select 'Advanced Chart' to access TradingView’s charting tools with over 200 technical indicators.
The TipRanks integration offers expert insights and latest market analysis, including ratings from over 96,000 analysts. Explore 'Analyst Forecasts' and 'Smart Score', which aggregates forecasts, news sentiment, and hedge fund activity into a 1-10 rating.
Placing a trade
From the stock summary, select 'Buy' and enter your trade details (quantity, value, order type). Choose from limit, market, or conditional orders. To secure better risk management, set stop-loss, take-profit, or trailing orders based on your trading preferences.
Funding your account
Click 'Add Funds' to deposit using your preferred funding method. To make a withdrawal from your account, set up an external bank account so the funds can be deposited in.
