I forgot my password, how can I access the platform?

You can reset your password using the 'forgot password' link. You will need your username and an authorisation code to reset your password.  The authorisation code will be sent to your registered email and/or your mobile phone. When you have successfully entered a correct username and code you will be asked to reset your password.

Your new password will need to fulfil the following requirements:

- Your password must be between 8-200 characters long

- Contain a least one letter

- Contain at least one number

- Must not be a common password

How can I update my details such as email address & mobile number?

You can change details like username, email address, mobile number within the ‘Personal Details’ section under the ‘Settings’ menu.

Please note, updating your email address via the Personal Details page will only update for platform messages and alerts, not for trade confirmations. To update your email address and/or mobile for trade confirmations you will need to do this in the “Account Information” page under the “Account” tab.

What Statements are available on the platform and how do I access them?

There are a suite of statements available from our trading platforms:

- Trading Account Statement

- Cash Transaction Summary

- Options Financial Statement (fi you have an Options account)

- Portfolio Report

- EOFY Trading Statement

To download these statements, follow these easy steps:

  1. Log in to either Standard or Pro platforms*
  2. Under the Account drop down menu, click on ’Statements’
  3. Select the statement you want to download
  4. Select the date range (or date)
  5. Click on either view or download (in the format you choose)

How do I place a Market Price Order?

We use a market order to open or close trades at the current market price. It’s important to remember that you can only place a market order when the market is open. By definition a market order will be placed three price steps above the best trade at the time the order is processed.

Where can I download the CMC Markets Invest Mobile App?

If you're an iPhone/iPad user (iOS), download the app from the App store.

How do I log into my CMC Markets account?

Once you have received confirmation that your account has been opened and you have verified your email address, you can log in via our website. To sign in you will need to enter your registered email address and password as used on your application form, then, select live or demo account.

Where can I find my account number?

Your account number can be found in the top left-hand corner of your platform screen. You can also find your account number in the email that you received confirming your account is open.

What does CMC Markets do with my personal information?

We may use your information to make further enquiries about you, including checks to combat fraud. We do not sell your personal information to any third parties for marketing purposes. For further information, please read our privacy and security policy, which explains in more detail how we deal with the personal information you provide us.

How do I fund my account?

You can fund your Next Generation account using a credit or debit card or by transferring funds from your bank account. There is a 1% charge for credit card payments and 0.6% charge for debit cards. We do not accept cheque or cash deposits. Please ensure that any payment you make to fund your account is from a card or account in your name. Any payment from third-party sources will be returned.

We do not accept AMEX or Diners cards. If you send funds to us from outside of Australia, then additional charges may apply to bank transfers.

Charges will be deducted from the payment amount and net proceeds credited to your trading account.

Please note we will only take deposit requests over the phone if your account is approaching margin call.

How can I reset my password?

You can reset your password by selecting ‘Forgotten Password’ on the login page. We will then send instructions for changing your password to the email address you use to log into your account.

How do I place a trade?

Click or tap on the 'SELL' or 'BUY' price and an order ticket will appear. Choose between 'Market Order', 'Limit Order', or 'Stop Entry Order', input the trade size and then hit enter, add any 'Stop Loss' and 'Take Profit' levels and then place your trade.

On our mobile apps, you can swipe from left to right anywhere on the order ticket to reveal a chart and use price sliders to set trade levels directly from the chart. Tablets use the extra screen space to display the chart to the left of the order ticket with your relevant order price and risk management levels shown against historical price action. Remember that information relating to past performance does not guarantee future performance.

Do you offer a demo account?

Yes. We offer a free demo account containing virtual funds. This allows you to try out our platform in a risk-free environment and practise trading strategies and techniques. Please note that our demo account doesn't display prices for share CFDs. All you need to do to open a demo account is provide a valid email address, your full name, a phone number and password. Open a demo account now. Once you have opened a demo account, you will need to click on the verification link sent to your registered email address to activate it.
