Markets move quickly. Prices change, headlines break, and new information is constantly emerging.

But for many investors, the challenge is not access to information. It is understanding what matters and why.

CMC Intelligence is designed to help address that problem. By bringing together market data, news, and key drivers into clear, explainable summaries, it aims to support faster, more confident research.

This article explains what CMC Intelligence is, how it works within the CMC Invest platform, and how it could be used as part of your investment process.

What is CMC Intelligence?

CMC Intelligence is an AI-powered feature built into the CMC Invest platform, designed to help you understand what is happening in markets and why it matters.

CMC Intelligence provides analysis across stocks, ETFs and cryptocurrencies on key global markets, including Australia, the United States, Singapore, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.

It analyses market data, company announcements, news, and price movements, then brings this information together into clear, structured summaries. Instead of switching between multiple sources, you can view key insights in one place, organised around what you are researching or currently holding.

CMC Intelligence is powered by Telescope, a specialised AI platform built for financial markets. At a high level, it works by combining multiple advanced language models with verified market data, regulatory filings, and trusted news sources. These systems are designed to identify relevant signals, connect them, and present them in a way that is structured, explainable, and grounded in source material.

It prioritises information based on what you are invested in, surfacing relevant price movements, news, and events to help you focus on what matters most.

In today’s markets, investors have access to more information than ever before. However, that information is often fragmented across charts, news, filings, and commentary, making it time-consuming to piece together a complete picture.

CMC Intelligence aims to simplify this process by prioritising and explaining the most relevant information. It helps shift the focus from simply seeing what has moved, to understanding what has changed, what may be driving it, and why it could matter.

How to use CMC Intelligence in your research

CMC Intelligence helps you quickly understand what is happening and why it matters. It works best as a starting point, complementing other parts of your research process such as fundamental and technical analysis.

The summaries provide a high-level summary to get you up to speed, before exploring original sources like company filings or announcements in more detail.

A few ways it can be applied in practice:

1. Reviewing your portfolio

The AI portfolio summary can help you assess what is driving performance across your holdings.

  • Identify key drivers behind recent movements

  • Spot recurring themes across positions

  • Highlight key factors or developments that may be worth exploring further

You can use it to get a quick update on what is happening across your portfolio, helping you stay across key developments.

This can be particularly useful during periods of market volatility, when multiple factors may be influencing your portfolio at once.

2. Understanding price movements

When a stock or asset moves, CMC Intelligence can help surface potential drivers.

  • Earnings results or company updates

  • Industry or sector developments

  • Broader macroeconomic factors

Rather than focusing on a single headline, this can help you identify the underlying themes influencing how prices are moving.

3. Researching new investment opportunities

The AI stock summary makes it easier to research potential investment opportunities.

  • Review key developments and recent news

  • Understand recent price movements

  • See both the bull and bear case

It provides a quick, structured briefing to help you get up to speed and identify key factors that could be explored in more detail through deeper research.

A tool to support, not replace, decision-making

CMC Intelligence is designed to support understanding, not to make decisions for you.

It brings together relevant information and presents it clearly, but it does not provide recommendations or personalised advice.

As with any investment tool, it is important to:

  • Verify information where appropriate

  • Consider your own objectives and risk tolerance

  • Use multiple sources as part of your research process

CMC Invest continues to evolve, with a focus on building tools that help investors better understand markets.

CMC Intelligence represents an early step in integrating AI-driven analysis into the platform, with further enhancements and features expected over time.
