How can I reset my password?
You can reset your password by selecting ‘Forgotten Password’ on the login page. We will then send instructions for changing your password to the email address you use to log into your account.
Where can I find my account number?
Your account number can be found in the top left-hand corner of your platform screen. You can also find your account number in the email that you received confirming your account is open.
How can I switch accounts?
Do you offer a demo account?
Yes. We offer a free demo account containing virtual funds. This allows you to try out our platform in a risk-free environment and practise trading strategies and techniques. Please note that our demo account doesn't display prices for share CFDs.
All you need to do to open a demo account is provide a valid email address, your full name, phone number and password. Open a demo account now. Once you have opened a demo account, you will need to click on the verification link sent to your registered email address to activate it.
How do I log into my CMC Markets account?
Once you have received confirmation that your account has been opened and you have verified your email address, you can log in via our website. To sign in you will need to enter your registered email address and password as used on your application form, then, select live or demo account.
How do I fund my account - CAD?
You can fund your account through the following options. Please ensure that any payment you make to fund your account is from an account in your name. Any payment from third party sources will be returned.

- Charges will be deducted from the payment amount and net proceeds credited to your trading account. We do not accept any credit card payments.
- If funding received does not match the currency of the account, a delay in processing will occur.

How do I place a trade?
Click or tap on the 'Sell' or 'Buy' price and an order ticket will appear. Choose between 'Market Order', 'Limit Order', or 'Stop Entry Order', input the trade size and then hit enter, add any 'Stop Loss' and 'Take Profit' levels and then place your trade.
On our mobile apps you can swipe from left to right anywhere on the order ticket to reveal a chart and use price sliders to set trade levels directly from the chart. Tablets use the extra screen space to display the chart to the left of the order ticket with your relevant order price and risk management levels shown against historical price action. Remember that information relating to past performance does not indicate future performance.
What does CMC Markets do with my personal information?
We may use your information to make further enquiries about you, including checks to combat fraud. We do not sell your personal information to any third parties for marketing purposes. For further information, please read our privacy and security policy, which explains in more detail how we deal with the personal information you provide us.
How do I link a bank account for withdrawals?
In order to link your bank account as a withdrawal destination, please email clientmanagement@cmcmarkets.ca with a completed Electronic Funds Transfer form and a proof of bank account. This could be a copy of a recent bank statement, a void cheque, or a Direct Deposit form. Please ensure that the information that you include in the Electronic Funds Transfer form matches the proof of bank account that you provide. Also note that the bank account number must be at least a 7 digit number and the transit number, a 5 digit number. If you do not see this on your bank document, kindly contact your bank to obtain the missing digits. For security and verification purposes, please email the bank statement from the email address registered on your account. Your registered email address is the email address you use to login to the platform.
How can I withdraw funds from my account?
You can withdraw funds from your account online by clicking on the 'Payments' icon and then selecting the 'Withdrawals' tab. Alternatively, you can use chat (Live help) or call our Client Management team for assistance. Please be aware that for your protection, we may request additional information and/or proof of identity before processing the withdrawal request. We do not transfer funds to a third-party account so please ensure that the bank account is in your name.
