How many types of trading accounts are there?
We offer standard CFD trading and FX Active account types. They are both available on our proprietary CMC trading platform and the MT4 platform, for all traders. We also offer a corporate account for businesses.
What is the difference between a standard account and a FX Active trading account?
FX Active is an an account designed for active FX traders seeking the tightest spreads on FX pairs and a commission-based pricing model. Our standard account is a traditional FX/CFD account with spread-based pricing across FX, shares, indices, treasuries, and commodities.
What is the maximum leverage I can trade with?
Leverage varies across different products. We offer the most competitive margin rates in compliance with CIRO regulations. The leverage for each product is fixed unless otherwise notified. To check the leverage for a specific product, simply log in to your CMC web portal and select "Product Overview" from the drop-down menu of the product window.
Can I open a demo account?
You can open a free CFD trading demo account in our CMC platform and MT4 platform with us, which enables you to practice trading with $10,000 worth of virtual funds.
What is the minimum deposit required to open an account?

What are the potential costs that could show in my account?
Once you start trading, all our instruments have a buy and sell spread which you’ll effectively pay when you place a trade. Other potential costs include: overnight holding costs, market data fees (for share and ETF CFDs only), guaranteed stop-loss order (GSLO) premiums, currency conversion fees (CFDs only), and account inactivity fees.
