How can I withdraw funds from my account?

You can withdraw funds from your account online by clicking on the 'Payments' icon and then selecting the 'Withdrawals' tab. Please be aware that for your protection, we may request additional information and/or proof of identity before processing the withdrawal request. We do not transfer funds to a third-party account so please ensure that the bank account is in your name.

*You must have EFT set up in your account before this feature can be utilized. Requests received before 11am (EST) may be processed same-day.

Note:

  •  - If your bank details are on file, we will process this request the same day, before our cut-off time of 11 am (EST).
  •  - If the currency of the funds being sent does not match the currency of the receiving bank account, you will be charged your bank’s conversion rate..

To register your bank account, you’ll need a copy of a recent bank statement (within the last three months), a void cheque or direct deposit form. Please note: Desjardin bank account statements don’t include the complete account number, so only a void cheque can be accepted.

Next Register your bank details within the platform.

Once set up, you’ll be able to fund and withdraw using bank transfers.

Why do I need to set up bank details?

You only need to set up bank details if you intend to transfer funds to your bank account. Once these details have been verified, your bank account will be registered and visible as a withdrawal destination on your payments menu. As we are not permitted to make any third-party payments to clients, we may ask that you provide us with some form of documentation to ensure ownership of the bank account you wish to register matches the records held on our database.

How to withdraw funds onto my card?

To withdraw funds from your live trading account, follow these steps:

  • Log in to your account on the CMC Markets platform

  • Navigate to the Account tab.

  • Select Funding tab.

  • Choose the Withdrawal option.

  • Select Card

  • Validate your card and enter your desired amount and proceed to withdraw.

  • Withdrawals are typically processed in real time but is subject to internal checks which may delay processing.

Are credit card withdrawals instant?

Why is my withdrawal limit $0?

  • Limited Withdrawal Amount: You can only withdraw funds to your registered credit card up to the total deposited amount using that specific card in the past 12 months.

  • Alternative Withdrawal Methods

    • Bank transfer: For withdrawing funds exceeding the credit card limit or if your card is inactive, setting up a bank transfer is required.

    • Steps to Add Bank Transfer Details:

      • Log in to your CMC Markets account

      • Navigate to Accounttab > Funding tab > Withdraw > Bank Transfer > Electronic Funds Transfer

      • Enter your bank account details and upload your bank statement/void cheque/direct deposit form.

        • Please wait 1 business day for your bank to be linked via email confirmation and you will be able to withdraw using the above steps.

        • Expect your withdrawal to arrive within 1-2 business days via bank transfer.

Note: To link your bank account for withdrawals, please make sure you deposit at least $1 via bill payment from the bank you are looking to withdraw money to for verification purposes.

To make a deposit via bill payment, please see the below instructions:

  • You can fund the account by simply making a Bill Payment via your online banking. Just go to your online banking and register “CMC Markets” as a bill payee using your trading account number as the billing account number.

  • Payment will be received in 1-2 business days.

Why is there a payment block on my account?

When depositing via a credit card, we require that you verify the card before the withdrawal can be processed.

Please see the below instructions to verify your card:

  • Log in to your account on the CMC Markets platform

  • Navigate to the Account tab.

  • Select Funding tab.

  • Choose withdrawal > card

  • Verify your card by selecting the box icon where a checkmark should appear.
