TradingView is a trading research platform where you can view charts, analyse trends and interact with an online community. Additionally, you can connect your TradingView account to your CMC Markets account, enabling you to open, manage and close trades within TradingView.
It’s free to sign up to TradingView’s ‘Basic’ plan, which may be a good option for beginners. Paid plans that give active traders access to additional features start from €12.95 a month and come with the option of a free, 30-day trial.
According to its website, TradingView is used by over 100 million traders and investors worldwide. TradingView states on its support page that they don’t process any payments themselves, and they don’t store or have access to your payment details. When you trade with us through TradingView, you’ll handle payment processes such as funding and withdrawals on our trading platform, which is compliant with the security standards of the payment card industry.
No. You must make deposits into and withdrawals from your CMC account on our trading platform. Any deposits or withdrawals you make with us will automatically show in your TradingView interface.
You can connect your TradingView account to a CFD trading account that you hold with us.
Go to TradingView, select the CMC Markets broker profile, and select ‘Trade’. You will then see the option to connect to your CMC Markets account. Enter your CMC Markets username and password and complete the connection.
Yes, you can. Once you’ve connected your TradingView account to your CMC Markets account, your trading activity will be synchronised. This means you’ll be able to see and manage all of your trades with us when you log into TradingView, our web platform or our mobile app, regardless of which one you used to place the trade.
To do this, log in to our web platform, go to ‘Settings’, select ‘Market Data’ and select the country (or group of countries) whose stocks or share baskets you’d like to trade. A text box will then pop up. Read the on-screen information and select ‘Activate’, choose ‘Yes’ if you agree to the subscription details, and select ‘OK’ to close the pop-up. You should now see a green tick next to the country or countries that you selected. If you don’t open any trades on shares from the country or countries you selected, you will need to reactivate your market data subscription each month in order to see share price data in TradingView.
Most market data subscriptions are free, but in some cases a fee may apply. At the time of writing (March 2025), the only market data subscription that carries a fee is for Australian shares (A$24 a month).
