To apply for a live trading account, follow these steps:
Desktop: Log in to your demo account, select the ‘Open a Live Account’ button at the top of the screen and follow the on-screen instructions.
iPhone or iPad: Open the app and log in, then select the 'More' button (with the three dots), tap the ‘Open a Live Account’ button, and follow the on-screen instructions.
Android: Open the app and log in, then tap the three lines at the top of the screen, tap ‘Open a Live Account’, and follow the on-screen instructions.
Our aim is to help you start trading as quickly as possible. However, there may be cases where additional documentation is needed before we can process your live account application. The account opening depends on how quickly you can provide us with the required supporting documents; on average the process takes two days. Once you have submitted your documents, we will contact you immediately.
In order to complete your live account application, we'll verify your identity with your passport or ID document using the VideoIdent procedure. You can choose from two different VideoIdent providers: SumSub or Deutsche Post.
How does it work?
As part of the VideoIdent process, the provider verifies your identity using your ID and confirms this to CMC Markets.
To perform the identification you need a PC/notebook with a webcam and microphone, a smartphone, or a tablet. The provider establishes a secure connection to your chosen device.
In addition, you'll also be required to provide an address verification document: a copy of a bank statement, utility bill or credit card statement. The document must be dated within the last three months and include your full name and current residential address. The full page must be provided, and if providing an online document, it must be in a pdf format.
How do I send my documents?
Please provide your address verification via the 'My Accounts' section in the platform. Alternatively, if you don't have this function, simply email copies of your documents to eusupport@cmcmarkets.com.
Account opening is subject to further verification, and once you've confirmed that you accept our Terms of Business and other legal documents via the link in a separate email (which includes all legal documents in pdf format for your records).
If emails from CMC Markets are directed to your junk mail folder, please ensure that messages from eusupport@cmcmarkets.com pass through your spam filter.
You can sign in to your account as soon as your application has been successful and you have clicked on the verification link sent to your registered email address. However, you won't be able to place a CFD trade until there are sufficient funds in your account to open a position. If you prefer to test strategies in a risk-free environment, a free demo account will allow you to practice trading with virtual funds.
