Luis Francisco Ruiz has a degree in Economics from the University of Alcalá and a master’s degree in Financial Markets from CEU San Pablo University. He is certified as a European financial advisor by the European Financial Planning Association and an asset manager by the FEF Financial Studies Foundation.
He completed his training by participating in courses at institutions including Afi, the BME stock exchange and the Options and Futures Institute, where he developed skills in investment selection, technical analysis, prop trading, financial Excel, and derivatives.
Luis was the director of analysis at the Estrategias de Inversión website for over a decade. A regular speaker at financial events, he launched the Trading Room event in 2011, where he presented his book La distancia del dinero. He has created financial market content across various formats — including videos, webinars, and articles — and developed tactical tools for asset selection, liquidity, and volatility.
As a consultant at Afi, he led technical analysis in the research department. He has also participated in investment committees at financial institutions and taught at the School of Applied Finance. At the Marbella Financial Trading Centre, he developed automated trading systems for liquid derivatives and trained clients.
With over 20 years of experience, Luis takes a holistic approach to market analysis, combining fundamental, technical, and psychological analysis. He believes the biggest barrier to investor success is mindset, and that this can only be overcome through knowledge and experience.
