It was founded in 2000 as a joint venture between the top four corporate estate agencies at the time: Halifax, Countrywide, Connells, and Royal and Sun Alliance, with headquarters in London. Rightmove’s website is a real estate marketplace where agencies, home developers, and housing associations can provide lettings and advertising services, and the platform also includes third-party and consumer advertisements. Although the company caters to a primarily UK-based audience, it also offers properties outside of the country.
