Lucid Group (also referred to as Lucid Motors) is a US electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer founded in 2007 with headquarters in California. The company originally focused on building EV batteries and powertrains for other manufacturers before deciding to develop luxury electric vehicles. Its factory is located in a 500-acre property in Arizona and has the capacity of producing 300,000 cars in the future. Lucid’s first and flagship model is the Lucid Air, which is reported to be the longest range and fastest charging luxury EV in the world, with a max 1,111 horsepower and official EPA range up to 520 miles. The company provides competition for other EV rivals as it has entered the clean energy market at a trending time. Lucid stock became listed on the Nasdaq exchange in New York in 2021 after merging with SPAC Churchill Capital Corp IV, and is also a constituent of the NASDAQ-100 index.
