ITV is a British media company that operates the free-to-air television network ITV, legally known as Channel 3. Although ITV was founded in 1955, claiming the title of the UK’s oldest commercial network, its parent company wasn’t formed until 2004 as the result of a merger between previous owners Granada and Carlton Communications. Its family of channels include ITV2, ITV3, ITVBe and CITV, accounting for more than a 20% viewing share in the UK. Some of ITV’s most watched TV programmes include Coronation Street, I’m A Celebrity, and Downton Abbey. It also operates BritBox, a subscription video on demand (SVOD) service, which is available in the UK, US, Canada, and Australia. The company has headquarters in London.
