Etsy is a US e-commerce company that runs a global online marketplace for users to buy and sell a variety of handmade items. These can be brand new or vintage, although any vintage items listed must be at least 20 years old, according to company rules. The company was founded in 2005 and is based in Brooklyn, New York. To name a few, Etsy sells clothing, footwear, jewellery, storage, home décor and furniture, and artwork. The marketplace reports 4.4 million active sellers and 82 million active buyers, operating in more than 230 countries, although more than 60% of sellers are based in the US.
