Canaan is a Chinese hardware manufacturer that provides semiconductor solutions. Founded in 2013, the company is a leader of supercomputing solutions, producing integrated circuit microprocessors for computing hardware and specialising in blockchain technology for use in bitcoin mining. Canaan has headquarters in Beijing and operates on a global level. It released the world’s first ASIC-powered bitcoin mining machine and the first mass production of a 7nm chip. The company also launched the K210, which is an artificial intelligence (AI) chip that is now widely used in access control products, such as smart lock doors.
