AO World is a British retailer specialising in electrical goods. The company was founded in 2000 and has headquarters in Bolton, operating in both the UK and Germany. It is the largest online-only white goods and electricals retailer in the UK, selling products such as fridge-freezers, washing machines, vacuum cleaners, televisions, laptops and printers. These can come either brand-new or refurbished for customers. As well as focusing on retail, AO operates its own warehouses, builds recycling facilities and owns a logistics company for its operations, Expert Logistics. Its subsidiary company Mobile Phones Direct is an online-only mobile retailer that sells handsets from leading brands and contracts from UK networks.
