Verizon is one of the world’s largest telecommunication conglomerates. Headquartered in New York City, the company is split into three divisions: Verizon Consumer (providing wireless network services), Verizon Business (managing business and government clients), and Verizon Media (offering digital media, software and advertising services). Its mobile network is the second-largest wireless carrier in the US, with over 120m subscribers. Verizon was founded in 1983 after a breakup of the Bell System, which previously dominated the telephone services industry across the US.
