About Low Sulphur Gasoil - Cash
Low sulphur gasoil, otherwise known by its nickname red diesel, is a type of energy fuel. It’s used to power off-road vehicles such as tractors and lawn mowers, as well as agricultural machinery, generators, and other related equipment. Since the fuel is minimally taxed, it can’t be used as automotive diesel in regular vehicles – it’s dyed red instead to distinguish between the two. Our Low Sulphur Gasoil – Cash instrument is based on the underlying spot price of the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) commodity contract. The underlying physical market for the commodity is diesel barges delivered in The Netherlands’ ARA region, which is used as the pricing reference across Europe.
