Broadcom Sees AI Demand Growing 

Broadcom [AVGO] reported a strong fiscal Q1, with record revenue of $19.31bn, up 29% year-over-year, and adjusted EPS of $2.05, slightly above analyst expectations. Semiconductor revenue surged 52% to $12.52bn, with artificial intelligence-focused (AI) sales hitting $8.4bn, up 106% year-over-year. CEO Hock Tan highlighted accelerating demand for chips, forecasting Q2 AI revenue of $10.7bn.

Has Nvidia Given Up on China?

The chip giant [NVDA] has halted production of H200 chips for China, the Financial Times reported, shifting capacity at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co [TSM] to its newer Vera Rubin processors. The move reflects expectations that US and Chinese regulatory barriers will continue to limit China sales. Vera Rubin targets advanced AI workloads and is in strong demand from US tech firms like OpenAI and Alphabet’s [GOOGL] Google.

China Slashes Growth Target

China has lowered its annual economic growth target to 4.5–5%, the slowest projection since 1991, reflecting domestic and global challenges. Announced during the “two sessions” political meetings, the target accompanies early details of the 15th Five Year Plan. The BBC reported that Beijing faces weak consumption, a shrinking population, property stress, trade tensions and energy shortages. 

Top Quantum Stock Drops on Q4 Flop

Rigetti Computing [RGTI] shares fell 3.5% in after-hours trading after Q4 results fell short of expectations. The quantum computing firm reported an adjusted loss of $0.03 per share on $1.87m revenue, below analyst estimates of $2.37m. CEO Subodh Kulkarni said the firm remained focused on its roadmap, and expects “significant” Q1 revenue growth from $5.7m Novera system orders.

What’s Happening with AppLovin?

Q4 2025 was the strongest quarter in the adtech giant’s [APP] history. The company reported revenue of $1.66bn, surpassing the $1.62bn analysts had expected, while EPS came in at $3.24 versus a $2.97 consensus forecast. Profitability was equally striking: adjusted EBITDA margins reached 84%, an exceptionally high level for a company operating at AppLovin’s scale. Despite these results, the market reaction was sharply negative: shares of AppLovin fell 29.25% following the announcement. OPTO examines why.
