Company information

The London Tunnels Inc. owns the freehold of the Kingsway Exchange Tunnels beneath High Holborn, central London, and is developing the site into a major new visitor and cultural destination.

The tunnels form one of the largest networks of deep-level tunnels built to shelter Londoners during the Blitz and have significant historical and cultural associations. They are also believed to have provided inspiration for Q Branch in Ian Fleming’s James Bond novels, with Fleming having served as Naval Liaison Officer to the Special Operations Executive (SOE).

The project has capacity for approximately 4.2 million visitors annually and has received full planning permission from both the City of London Corporation and Camden Council. It has also received support from the Greater London Authority and the Military Intelligence Museum and has attracted substantial international media and industry coverage.

The development is expected to open in early 2028 and is intended to establish the Kingsway Exchange Tunnels as a nationally significant visitor attraction and a distinctive new destination within London’s cultural and tourism landscape.
