Will Bunzl clean up this week?
The distribution business and cleaning products supplier is more flush than flash, but Bunzl's steady returns have made it a defensive favourite and shares are at record highs ahead of earnings this week (Tue).

Punch Taverns scraping the bottom of the barrel
Punch Taverns shares are languishing near record lows again ahead of earnings this week (Tue) as the industry deals with changes to the Pubs Code and a cut to beer ties that came into effect on 21 July.  

Is the force still with Salesforce?
Strong growth is expected from the leader in software-as-a-service (SaaS) this week (Wed), but there is concern that Saleforce’s buying spree, including Demandware and Quip, indicates a slowing core business.

Eurozone CPI out on Wednesday
Euro area service and manufacturing PMI data has held up after Brexit, suggesting a low risk of recession. Low levels of inflation (out Wed) are the only reason the ECB could still add to stimulus at its next meeting.

How confident are US consumers in the economy?
The rise in US retail sales stumbled in July with 0% growth but US retailers, including Walmart and Best Buy, reported strong earnings. Consumer confidence data (Tue) will offer further insight into US economic growth.
