Which central bank will move first?

Three of the four biggest global central banks – the US Federal Reserve, Bank of Japan and Bank of England – meet this week to discuss their latest policy decisions within a 24-hour period. On Wednesday the US Fed delivers its decision on interest rates and outlook, followed by the Bank of Japan's announcement. The Bank of England announces its latest policy decision on Thursday, with rates expected to remain unchanged for the 87th consecutive month.

1.    TUE 14 JUNE Can US data offer a much-needed boost?​ Following May's disappointing non-farm payrolls report, US retail sales and inflation data would need to go through the roof to make a summer rate hike possible. 2.    TUE 14 JUNE Is the UK economy slowing down​? It's a big data week for the UK, with inflation expected to show price pressures rising again, followed by the unemployment rate on Wednesday and retail sales on Thursday?

3.    WED 15 JUNE Will Berkeley Group see full-year profit fall? A slowdown in activity at the upper end of the property market has tempered profit expectations for housebuilder Berkeley Group. 4.    THU 16 JUNE Are luxury brands going out of fashion​? If recent results from Burberry and Ralph Lauren are any indication, Ted Baker (Tue) and Mulberry (Thu) may be in for an uphill struggle ahead of full-year results.  5.    THU 16 JUNE Could Hillary Clinton be Smith & Wesson's best weapon? With enough delegates for the Democratic nomination, gun-control advocate Hillary Clinton is the best advert Smith & Wesson could hope for ahead of its Q4 update. 

6.    FRI 17 JUNE Rough times ahead for Oracle​? Oracle's Q4 earnings are likely to be overshadowed by a former employee and shareholder group suing the tech giant for fabricating its cloud sales figures.
