Jasper Lawler

MARKET ANALYST at CMC MARKETS (UK)

Jasper joined the market analyst team in the London office in 2014, and has accumulated over eight years' experience working in the financial markets.

He delivers regular commentary, seminars and webinars on trading psychology, analysis and strategy, with a systematic, trend following approach to trading. He is regularly interviewed by BBC News, Bloomberg, CNBC and Sky News, and has featured in The Times, Guardian and Daily Telegraph.

Before joining CMC Markets, Jasper worked as a trader at a Wall Street commodity trading advisory firm, and as a market strategist managing relationships with clients at a broker-dealer in the City.

He writes a mid-morning market update and daily market wrap, plus daily commentaries on US, European and UK stock markets, FX and commodities. Jasper also hosts a weekly charting analysis webinar.

Jasper uses a blend of price-action orientated trend and pattern analysis with the relative strength index (RSI) technical indicator to confirm changes in momentum. He also uses investor surveys, the put-call ratio, breadth indicators and flow of funds data. These sentiment indicators help Jasper to gain an edge in his analysis of global stock markets.

He is qualified as a Chartered Market Technician (CMT) with the Market Technician Association, and has a degree in Finance and Economics.
