UK PMI data gains prominence post-Article 50
Monday-Wednesday: Now that Article 50 has been triggered, UK data is likely to be more closely scrutinised. March PMI data for manufacturing, construction and services will complete the picture for Q1 and may point to a modestly slowing but still growing economy.
Will Europe's economy lift the UK?
Monday & Wednesday: The latest March PMI numbers look set to complete a decent quarter for France and Germany, with a sharp acceleration likely. An improving economy in Europe could be good news for the UK, boosting demand for exports.
Can ASOS walk the walk ahead of Q1 results?
Tuesday: This week's Q1 sales numbers are expected to show improving sales and profit for fashion retailer ASOS, which has been helped by a low cost base and an ability to cater to a demographic that likes to identify with the celebrity culture.
FOMC minutes will shed clarity on Fed's hawkish stance
Wednesday: The recent decision by the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates by 0.25% was not entirely unexpected after the hawkish outbursts from Fed policymakers in February. The minutes will shed more light on this sudden conversion after a fairly dovish start to the year.
