What's your role?
I help manage the digital paid media activity alongside my manager, Aimee Palk, across the APAC region. We work with budgets, targeting, strategy, planning and managing internal stakeholders. We also work very closely with external media agencies that handle execution.
What advice would you give to someone looking to do your job?
Be flexible, as you never know what the day will throw at you, and be open to discussion/negotiation. One thing I’ve learned from the best managers I’ve had throughout my career is that we don’t know everything - and that’s what should keep us going and drive us to learn more. Always see yourself as a student, and you’ll have something to look forward to.
What do you like most about your job?
Moving with the markets and aligning with what’s happening in the real world makes this job exciting. The immediacy that comes with working on digital channels and the fast-paced environment is very fulfilling.
How have you been supported in your role?
The autonomy and trust from my team and other departments have significantly helped develop my confidence. Having come from a marketing agency, I wasn’t sure if I was going to fit well on this side of the table, but I’ve been welcomed right at home here.
